Can't you just feel the Serenity?

Another Christmas Day done and therefore another trek to our favourite holiday haunt – Harrington! Harrington – generally about an 8 hour drive from Brisbane and supposedly (and I emphasise “supposedly) a 4 hour hop from Steve’s parents house in Wollongong. Add in Sydney traffic and road works that are actually not being road worked on and you have a nice little 9 hour drive on your hands. I have honestly never seen anything like it. We were able to watch the entire length of “50 First Dates” on the portable DVD player before we even had to think about beginning to pay attention to the road. It was a literal car park on the highway. People were getting out to have a walk, sending the kids out to walk the dog for a bit, popping their heads in the windows of other peoples cars to chat etc. We eventually made it though and had a great week and half relaxing, sleeping, eating, walking and swimming. Snickers thought it was great too – having us pay heaps of attention to him and getting lots of walks and pats and playing on the beach time.
We love Harrington!

A few of my favourite things........Steve, Snickers, rain, reading and being at Harrington.

We did a 1000 piece pirate puzzle............and actually finished it!

Snickers repeatedly face planted in the sand chasing after his ball.
I found this photo particularly funny.

The baby's first trip to Harrington.
I'm just an ad for healthy pregnancy don't you think?
(half empty Coke bottle and all........ah yeah.........)
Snickers, who is great, but the colour of the water this day was stunning!
The photo doesn't do it justice.
Steve's cousin Tammy and her husband Gavin joined us, along with their dog Kirra. I was a bit worried about the two dogs getting on before they arrived.............I didn't need to be!

One day we ventured down to the lagoon in the heat of the day (generally our practice is to go down at about 3ish and hang out for a few hours) This day the water was just gorgeous and we had an awesome time swimming but were very sun smart as we sat and read our books.

Steve did a spot of fishing with his Dad, Relle and Gav while I coloured in my Madagascar 2 colouring book with my new connector pens.............yes you read that right.

Ahhhhh, the serenity.
