Baby Shower

Mum and Kate are extraordinary people. They put on a baby shower for me on Saturday. And when I say “put on a baby shower” I really mean it! No detail was overlooked - from the gorgeous cupcake tower (see below) to the serviettes folded like nappies, the game “booklets,” ensuring there were enough pencils sharpened and ready for use, the decorations and everything else in between.
And then there was the food..........a chocolate fountain, scones, pikelets, mini quiches, little cakes and other scrumptious delicacies straight from Mum’s kitchen.
A couple of anecdotes from the day to have a giggle at – ten minutes before the shower is due to start we go to turn on the brand new chocolate fountain and find that it doesn’t work..........hmmmm............no matter............Steve A to the rescue, off down to the shops to locate another one and with a minimum of fuss the chocolate started flowing! And I lost my camera. We searched high and low and round and round and were just starting to ring people to see if someone had picked it up by mistake when it was located in the veggie crisper of the fridge.............yeah, we’re not sure either!
It was a beautiful afternoon – thanks really doesn’t say enough to Mum and Kate - the baby shower masters, and their “support staff” Lyall and Steve who ran around seeing to a multitude of tasks handed to them and also to all the other people who I know chopped fruit, made scones and helped clean up!
A huge thanks also, to all my wonderful family and friends for coming and sharing in a special afternoon with me. Thank you for blessing the baby, Steve and I with all the beautiful presents and for your incredible generosity in raising money for the Vana orphanage in Zimbabwe.
(By the way – Steve didn’t miss out on pre baby fun time – he went rock climbing with some mates!)
A Kate Masterpiece!

Sounds like a great arvo.
I printed off the photo and have been taking it everywhere with me showing everyone "my grandchilds shower". I love the cakes, but also the nappies were amazing Kate.

It's getting so exciting. I am! so I'm sure you are too...

Hi Em, I agree with the two 'comment leave-ers' We would do it 1000 times over and it is too exiting to put into words. Steve - you can call me anytime - don't look at the clock just ring - when it happens I mean! Love you guys xx
