Sydney Side

The sad reason for our most recent trip to Sydney was the passing of Steve's grandma. We flew down for the funeral and spent a few days with the extended family down there. It was of course a sad occasion but it's always special getting to hang with the extended family we don't get to see very often. We were also able to introduce Savannah to more of her family. Sadly Grandma never got to meet our littlest. Truth be told - it was an incredibly exhausting trip. An emotionally draining time, compounded by no sleep due to aforementioned littlest. We were gone for two nights and were up for most of those nights trying to keep Savannah from waking everyone else in the house as she was the most unsettled she has been since we brought her home! William did great with all the disruption and new places and faces and I was very proud of him. It was Savannah's first flying experience and thankfully all went well there too with minimal disruption to other passengers....

New level of exhaustion reached? Check.

Rainy Day Inside Play

Came up with this idea in a moment of what some may call insanity. Food colouring. Water. Kitchen sink. Provide three year old with various utensils. See what happens. I just lay a towel on the floor underneath him and that caught the majority of the drips and he had a pretty good time.

Summary of June 2012

Exercise

Some people do mummy and baby exercise classes, or push prams serenely along the waterfront with their cooing baby tucked inside. I drink tea and eat chocolate. To me exercise after having a baby means hanging the clothes on the line :-)

Caught Out!!

William's first "visit" to Savannah's cot. "Cos Mum she likes the teddies and I was just making the teddies spin for her."

Tired

I just found this little series of photos. They were taken about two weeks before Savannah started sleeping through the night. Or as I like to call it "The Low Point" :-) I don't think I have ever been this tired. Unless it was a week later after we'd done a trip to Sydney, a dedication and and taken ill fated camping trip (but that's another story) Anyway - I am pleased to be enjoying more sleep these days and wanted to note these photos so that one day when Savannah or William have their own kids and come to me saying "Mum you have no idea how tired I am," I can cuddle them close and say "Yes, I do." Just like my Mum did for me.

Mummy and Savvy Days

On the days that William goes to kindy Savannah and I generally hang out at home. Pj's stay on. Feeding is relaxed and usually to the tune of an episode of 'Friends'. Savannah eats, sleeps and plays and I eat, sleep and occasionally clean ;-) Special times.
